SAGA

THE WATCHFUL

SAGA adds a lightweight 256-dimensional embedding head to any object detector (YOLO, DETR, or LOKI) that detects when input images are degraded — blur, rain, fog, noise, compression, or sensor malfunction. Using multi-layer contrastive learning against pristine prototypes, it adds less than 5ms latency while providing critical meta-awareness of perception quality. Safety-critical systems must never be silently wrong — a robot that confidently reports 'all clear' when its camera is foggy is more dangerous than one that says 'I can't see.' SAGA enables graceful degradation and human-in-the-loop escalation.
